Hi! Welcome to my website! My name is Susan Ippolito and I am a local integrative wellness coach living and practicing in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. My goal as an integrative health practitioner is to help you live your best life. I believe we all need to live a balanced life and nurture our mind, body and soul. I believe food is medicine and we can use the healing energy of food to heal our bodies and nurture our souls. I believe we can heal our planet with sustainable food choices.
I first became passionate about food as medicine in the 1990's when I helped my husband lower his very high (300+) cholesterol with simple dietary changes.
In 2004 when he was diagnosed with bile duct cancer, we searched for ways to help him with food and natural healing modalities. Sadly, by then it was too late as the cancer had spread too far. We tried so much but I always wonder what more I or we could have done.
MY OWN JOURNEY
When I was diagnosed with psoriasis in 2017, the dermatologist talked about medications and other treatment options and told me that changing my diet wouldn't make a difference. This didn't sit well with me so I decided to do my own research. I eventually adopted a whole-food plant-based, gluten-free diet and found that I was able to reverse and eliminate my psoriasis. This experience led me to believe that we can take control of our own health with lifestyle and dietary changes.
During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, I decided that I’d like to help others make the same types of lifestyle changes I made. I enrolled in a graduate program in Integrative Health at the California Institute of Integral Studies to become a certified wellness coach. It's been an amazing program and I've learned so much about how to address all aspects of well-being.
I truly believe I can make an impact on my community and coaching clients by helping them adopt lifestyle and dietary changes that can help heal chronic disease and improve their lives in so many ways. I also believe every little bit of change that is made towards more sustainable living and consumption will help save our planet.
